Job description

The Team Leader/Registered Manager is responsible for the leadership, day-to-day management and general administration of a children’s home for young people who have experienced multiple adverse experiences in childhood, and present with difficulties with increased generalised levels of anxiety, poor emotional self-regulation, impulsivity, hyper vigilance, interpersonal and relationship difficulties, and associated behavioural difficulties, including self-harm, suicidal attempts, violence. These difficulties are associated with traumatic victimisation and insecure attachment. To ensuring that appropriate audit and governance systems are in place to monitor if the residential component of the service is functioning in line with the home’s Statement of Purpose and being accountable for same. Responsibilities

• The Team Leader is required to be registered with RQIA as the Registered Manager of the home as per regulations.
• Demonstrate effective professional leadership ensuring that all professional tasks within the home are carried out to the highest possible standards, and in accordance with current Legislation, Regulations and Trust policies.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Minimum of three years' (post AYE) experience of working with young people.
• Experience should include the following: field work with Looked After Children/Young People or working with young people who live in a residential child care setting/or working in a residential setting providing direct care to young people.
• Experience should include 1 year working in a supervisory capacity.
• Professional Qualification in social work (Diploma in SW, CQSW, BA SW, MSW).
• Registered with NISCC or other council e.g. GSCC.

Desirable Skills

• Applicant has already successfully completed Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Training and accreditation is current.
• Professional Awards through PIP Framework or equivalent.
