Job description
Early Years, the organisation for young children wishes to recruit a Data Management Specialist in Belfast. The post-holder will be a member of Early Years’ GDPR, Data Management & Cyber Security Working Group (the ‘DM Group’), and will contribute to the continuing development of the organisation’s approach to GDPR, Data Management & Cyber Security and prioritisation of actions. Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of relevant data principles, policies and standards within the organisation, including a specific focus on Early Years’ intranet.
- Develop and implement data quality standards, allowing the organisation to actively monitor, then resolve, any issues in data quality that reduce trust and ultimately value of data for decision making.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to support data-related projects.
- Ensure high quality reporting to the Trustees, ICO or any other body in relation to data management/compliance matters.
- Perform regular data audits and validation checks.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- A degree in in a relevant discipline; such as Information Management, Information Technology, Business Administration.
- At least 2 years of organisational-level responsibility for data management processes.
- A proven track record of effectively and sustainably implementing data management processes across multiple departments.
Desirable Skills
- Understanding of UK and EU data privacy laws and regulatory standards.
- Knowledge of funder requirements for record maintenance.
- Experience of the sensitivity of working with personal data relating to children.
