Job description

To provide an effective specialist speech and language therapy service to Children within the Community Setting as appropriate in accordance with National and NHSCT Standards and Guidelines of Practice. To provide a flexible service and undertake duties in various Trust locations in accordance with the needs of the Service. Please see employer website for full job details & person specification.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the specialist assessment, diagnosis and treatment of children with Speech, Language and Communication difficulties on an individual and group basis as required.
• Provision of appropriate interventions to meet the needs of children presenting with complex and multiple communication difficulties.
• Responsible for the planning and management of the caseload including identifying and allocating less complex cases to less experienced therapists.
• Providing clinical advice to less experienced staff in relation to communication disorders in children.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Registered members of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists and HCPC.
• Have a minimum of 18 months’ experience as a Speech and Language Therapist working with pre and school age children in a range of settings.
• A recognised qualification and experience in delivering one or more of the following programmes/interventions - DLS, PCI, Hanen, PECS, Makaton.

Location: Glengormley Community Services Ctr. Salary: £38,682 - £46,580 per annum pro rata.
