Job description

Provide clinical expertise and a lead role in training, education and professional development of all staff across community children’s nursing. Provide a lead role in identifying the training needs of other healthcare and external agencies in both formal and informal settings as required. Responsibilities

• To create a culture where excellence in nursing will flourish within a child centered approach through continued education and development of staff.
• Develop, plan and deliver education and skills-based programmes in response to supporting the identified needs of children within across community settings.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Registered Nurse (Children’s) on part one of the Live NMC register AND Have a nursing degree AND recent experience working within acute or community paediatrics, within the last 5 years.
• Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a practice assessor or mentor / practice educator / practice supervisor.

Desirable Skills

• Independent/Supplementary Prescriber and have successfully completed the V300 course or be willing to undertake this within the first year, in post.
• PGCE qualification.
