Job description
The Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP) is a practitioner who works autonomously within given guidelines to deliver care to a specific group of patients attending the Urgent Care and Treatment Centre without reference to a doctor. The post holder will be part of a team of nursing and medical professionals leading in the delivery of a high quality service to patients presenting with lower acuity illness and minor injuries presenting to the Urgent Care and Treatment Centre in Omagh Hospital and Primary Care Complex. Responsibilities
- Remain up to date in professional developments and pro-activity and seek to develop knowledge and skills required by the NMC.
- Share responsibility with the Departmental Manager, Practice Educator and Emergency Department Consultants for developing the role and service as patient needs dictate.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Registered Nurse on Adult Branch of the live NMC Register.
- Have a Nursing Degree AND 3 years post-registration experience within Emergency Department / Minor Injuries Unit OR 5 years post-registration experience as a Band 5 including 3 years within Emergency Department / Minor Injuries Unit.
Desirable Skills
- Certificate in ALS within the last 4 years.
- A course in supplementary Nurse Prescribing.
