DFC Work Experience - Housekeeping Attendant
Job description
To ensure that all areas of the Housekeeping function are cleaned and maintained for the greatest enjoyment of the guests and maximum resource efficiency for the hotel.
Responsibilities
- To clean and service bedrooms, bathrooms, corridors, and public areas of the hotel. Typical tasks include vacuuming, mopping, cleaning toilets, stripping and making beds.
- To ensure all equipment and materials are used in the correct manner and any problems are reported immediately.
- To always maintain the security of bedrooms and stock, immediately reporting any breaches and dealing with lost property in accordance with company procedures.
- To work effectively with colleagues to ensure a harmonious working environment where all employees are treated with respect and dignity.
- To be knowledgeable about the hotel offerings and be proactive in the sale of these to guests.
- Greeting guests and responding to their queries.
- To ensure that guest concerns are dealt with politely and efficiently, reporting them to the Supervisor/Manager on duty.

- Any other duties as required by management.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Good command of English Language.
- Must have good communication skills.
- Must be educated to GCSE standard or the equivalent with grades A-C in English and Maths.
Desirable Skills
- Previous cleaning experience.
Further Information
This work experience opportunity is expected to last for 8 weeks and will require attendance of 20-30 hours/week. While on Work Experience, participants will retain their entitlement to benefit. Those who are not receiving benefit are also welcome to participate. Travel and childcare costs may be reimbursed. Participants will also receive an incentive payment equivalent to £10/day to a maximum of £50/week.
