Service Improvement Medical Governance Manager Band 8A NHSCT


Job description

The post-holder will assist the Divisional Nurse & Governance Manager in the review, development, implementation and monitoring of a robust medical governance framework across Medicine & Emergency Medicine. The post-holder will provide high levels of expertise and leadership in service improvement and operational management, with a specific focus on enhancing workforce governance for medical staff across Medicine & Emergency Medicine. This will involve facilitating improved processes of adherence to clinical governance frameworks and regulatory requirements across Medicine & Emergency Medicine.

Responsibilities

  • The post-holder will work closely with Divisional Medical Director, Divisional Assistant Directors, being responsible for sharing information, experience and developments across the Division.
  • The post-holder will facilitate the development of improved ways of working in collaboration with clinical and management teams.
  • Plan facilitate, and deliver the implementation of medical governance framework using appropriate project management methodologies (e.g lean model for improvement).
  • Utilise service improvement methodologies (e.g. process mapping, demand and capacity modelling) to identify and deliver sustainable improvements in medical staffing processes and ultimately service delivery.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • A university degree or relevant professional qualification in nursing, allied health profession or social work and have worked for 3 years at Band 7 or above in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Delivered against performance management programmes for a minimum of 2 years, meeting a full range of key targets and making significant improvements.
  • Worked with a diverse range of stakeholders, to achieve successful outcomes for a minimum of 2 years.
  • Successfully demonstrated people management, governance, leadership and organisational skills for a minimum of 2 years.
