Job description
Riada Resourcing is recruiting on behalf of a leading advanced manufacturing company for a Mechanical Technician to join its Engineering and Assembly team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the role involves installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving mechanical systems and production equipment in a fast-paced technical environment. With over 25 years experience in industrial automation, the company delivers bespoke machine-build, robotics, and automation solutions to customers worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Carry out maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on mechanical equipment and production systems
- Install, commission, and modify machinery and automation systems
- Build, test, and troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and automation components
- Work closely with engineering, automation, and electrical teams to resolve technical issues
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance
- Maintain accurate records and provide technical support to meet production targets
- Liaise with customers and ensure effective communication throughout projects
- Follow all health & safety and quality procedures
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Recognised engineering qualification at Level 3 or above
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
- Experience with precision tools, alignment, and calibration
- Transferable skills from a previous multi-skilled role
- Proven experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical/pneumatic systems
- Ability to learn quickly in a fast-moving environment
- Competence with general computer applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
