Job description

Childcare Assistant -Sure Start Developmental Programme for two to three year olds.

Responsibilities

• To assist in providing a stimulating and varied programme of play which meets the needs of the children aged two to three.
• To assist in overseeing the welfare and behaviour of children.
• To assist in the preparation of forward planned activities.
• To ensure a good standard of hygiene and safety.
• To help prepare healthy meals and snacks for children.
• To keep daily records of attendance, waiting list and notes on children’s welfare.
• To notify the Childcare Co-Ordinator of all child protection/safety concerns immediately.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• To have a qualification in childcare minimum CCLD level 2.
• A knowledge and understanding of child development and children/family need 3. ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work as part of a team.

Desirable Skills

• Knowledge of the two year old programme.
