Job description

We are seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our production team. This is a hands-on role supporting food production, ingredient preparation, packing, hygiene and dispatch operations within a modern food manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will work closely with our production team to ensure products are prepared safely, accurately and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Preparing ingredients for production according to recipes and production schedules
• Assisting with cooking, mixing and filling operations
• Labelling and packing finished products
• Receiving, checking and storing deliveries
• Maintaining stock rotation and ingredient traceability
• Cleaning equipment, utensils and production areas
• Supporting wash-up and hygiene operations
• Preparing customer orders for dispatch
• Wrapping pallets and assisting with warehouse activities
• Following food safety, hygiene and health & safety procedures
• Completing production and quality paperwork records

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Good attention to detail
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Good organisational skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Physically capable of manual handling
• Good understanding of food hygiene and cleanliness standards

Desirable Skills

• Previous experience in a kitchen, catering or food production environment
• Food Hygiene Certificate
• Experience handling ingredients and following recipes
• Experience working within a food manufacturing environment
