Job description

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Project Officer specialising in Communications and Administration to support our organisational objectives. The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing internal and external communications, fostering positive public relations, and ensuring the smooth operation of administrative functions. Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Programme Manager and team to develop, implement and manage an effective communication strategy including website content, social media, marketing materials and evaluation and reporting systems to promote the PEACEPLUS project.
  • Organise and market celebratory/milestone events and on-going promotion and branding of the project in compliance with PEACEPLUS guidelines and stipulations including key milestones, outputs and outcomes and reporting as per SEUPB requirements.
  • Collating relevant section 75 information, use of appropriate evaluation tools and mechanisms (e.g. Warwick Edinburgh scales/other as required by Project evaluation) and assistance in the preparation of tendering/ procurement documentation.
  • Uploading relevant activity information to JEMS as required and any other required databases taking into account GDPR.
  • Support the administrative functions of the PEACEPLUS team including expanded services and other programmes in conjunction with the Project Officers for Administration, Performance and Finance and Programme Manager.
  • Help organise and schedule meetings including via Teams/Zoom and other media and where required undertake promotion, preparation and minuting of meetings.
  • Develop & maintain collaborative links with stakeholders, project partners, programme coordinators and administrative staff ensuring key information capture and all communication content is up-to-date, accurate, audience appropriate as work package.
  • Working as a key member of a small team and cooperating with others to ensure tasks are completed to ensure the successful running of the centre and project.
  • Contributing to annual and end of project reports for programmes and have a good working understanding of budgeting and financial control of programmes.
  • Provide regular project reports as required.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Hold a recognised qualification at diploma or degree level preferably in communications/media, administration, finance or at least 2 years relevant experience of effective communication delivery in a setting which involves delivery of programmes.
  • Have experience in the delivery of projects, including working in a project which has a variety of stakeholders.
  • Have significant experience of working in the development of communications strategies, plans and mechanisms within a project which has a variety of stakeholders.
  • A working knowledge and competency in Information Technology (IT) skills, with experience of using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Social Media.
  • Evidence of a range of essential communication skills both in person and online.
  • The ability to work on own initiative as well as within a dynamic small team environment.
  • Have a Full valid Driving Licence and access to a mode of transport that would enable you to perform the duties of this post.
  • Have experience in the use of financial management, budgeting and reporting systems.
  • Willing to undergo an Access NI Check to obtain a Disclosure Certificate issued by AccessNI or by applying through Garda vetting procedures.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge or experience of community development, working within a community development context and awareness and empathy for deprived or marginalised communities or individuals.
  • Experience of working with and reporting to a voluntary management committee.

Further Information
