Job description
The Manager of Mental Health & Addiction Services responsible for Floating Support & Community Wellbeing services will exercise full operational management / leadership in the delivery of high quality recovery-orientated Mental Health & Addiction Services. The post holder will have responsibility for ensuring the safe, effective and efficient management of services across the directorate. The post holder will manage the implementation of all statutory and regulatory requirements, financial requirements and provide effective and supportive line management across their allocation of services. There will be a strong emphasis on multi-disciplinary/inter-agency working to provide excellent and safe services for the people we support. The post holder will be required to build excellent interpersonal relationships with a diverse range of external and internal stakeholders and work closely with the Assistant Director to deliver on the strategic and operational aims of Inspire.
Responsibilities
- Manage Inspires’ Mental Health & Addiction Services adopting a model of best practice for Mental Health and Addiction.
- Support the Assistant Director in the strategic development and operational delivery of Inspire Mental Health & Addiction Services, in accordance with the objectives, vision and values of the organisation.
- Monitor and review the operational plans on a regular basis and report to the Assistant Director on progress towards the strategic and operational priorities, be accountable for the results.
- Ensure delivery of objectives and key performance targets for Inspire Mental Health & Addiction Services.
- Ensure Inspires’ vision and values are embedded within your area of responsibility.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Be flexible as the role will involve working on a rota/shift basis involving day, evening and weekend work plus on call to meet the needs of the service.
- Possess a full current driving licence and access to a car. Business insurance will be a requirement for this post.
- Professional Social Work qualification and registered on the appropriate part of the NISCC register without condition
- Or a first level registered Nurse on the appropriate part of the Nursing and Midwifery Council register
- Or Allied Health Professional; e.g. qualified OT registered with BAOT/RCOT
- A QCF level 5 diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services (Adults Management) and be registered or eligible for registration on appointment on the NISCC register without condition
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience of working in a health care setting with demonstrated experience of managing a range of complex mental health needs of service users. At least 2 years of this experience must be in a relevant operational management.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a health and social care setting with demonstrated experience of managing a range of complex mental health needs of service users. This must include at least 2 years relevant experience in operational management.
