Kitchen Assistant
Job description
To ensure the efficient production of high-quality food within the available budget, whilst maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness as directed by the Cook.
Responsibilities
- Report to the Cook/Nurse Manager, any faulty appliances, damaged equipment or any potential hazard.
- Promote safe working practice in the kitchen. Comply with Health & Safety and Hygiene Regulations.
- Assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of all food and snacks.
- Perform all aspects of kitchen duties as directed.
- Ensure all crockery and equipment is cleaned and stored appropriately, and that the overall cleaning of the kitchen area is carried out effectively.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Enhanced Access NI to be completed by the successful candidate.
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience in a busy kitchen.
