Job description
The post holder is accountable for their ward/department and will promote and monitor safe and effective practice, enhance the patient/client experience, provide effective leadership and management and contribute to the delivery of the organisation’s objectives. The main purpose of the role is to provide leadership and clinical expertise within the ward/department. The post holder will lead, develop and hold continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation, evaluation of programs of care and settings of standards of care. Responsibilities
- Adhere to Trust guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Ensure that organisational goals are reflected in the nursing teams
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Must have 3 years post registration experience in Recovery Ward or HDU/ICU within the last 5 years.
- Proven track record of having taken responsibility for the management of a ward/department which must include shifts on day duty.
Desirable Skills
- Experience of carrying out research / audit.
- Experience of being involved in implementing evidence based practice.
Further Information
Salary is £47,810 - £54,710 per annum pro rata.
