Job description

We currently work with trusted external curtain makers and upholsterers, and we will continue to do so. However, we are now looking to bring some simple soft furnishings and upholstery-style finishing pieces in-house, particularly items that complement our interior design and bespoke cabinetry projects. The role would suit someone with experience in soft furnishings, sewing, curtain making, cushion making, upholstery, alterations, workroom production or industrial sewing.

Responsibilities

• Cushion making
• Piped cushions
• Box cushions and seat pads
• Curtain making
• Simple soft furnishings
• Light upholstery
• Upholstered panels or headboards
• Fabric cutting and preparation
• Working with designer fabrics
• Pattern matching and fabric direction

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• You should have good sewing and fabric-handling experience, with the ability to produce a neat, professional finish
• Experience with cushions, soft furnishings, curtain making

Further Information

Hours: 30 - 40 per week. This is a hands-on making role and not a retail, sales or public-facing position.
