Job description
The post holder carries continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care, standards setting within the department and will be responsible for the deployment, supervision and teaching of students and other staff. Responsibilities
- Assess, develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care.
- Clinically competent in the performance of venepuncture and cannulation.
- Liaise with all hospital personnel on the provision of the service to ensure the highest quality of patient care and the most economical means of achieving it.
- Act as consultant to all nurses on matters related to the specialty ensuring that nursing staff have available to them current information on which to base their nursing decisions.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Registered Nurse on Part 1 (Adult) of the Live Register of the NMC.
- 2 years post-registration experience, some of which should be within Fracture, Trauma or Orthopaedic Services.
- Hold a current recordable Fracture, Trauma or Orthopaedic Nursing Certificate qualification or equivalent.
- Or Currently undertaking the Fracture Trauma & Orthopaedic Nursing course Or Willing to undertake the Fracture Trauma & Orthopaedic Nursing course.
