Care Assistant
Job description
You will help residents with day-to-day care, personal care, meals, mobility, companionship and activities, while working as part of a supportive care team. Full training, paid induction and support with NISCC registration will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with personal care, including washing, dressing, and toileting.
- Support residents with mobility, transfers, and safe use of equipment.
- Provide assistance during mealtimes, including feeding where necessary.
- Monitor and record residents’ wellbeing, reporting changes promptly.
- Promote residents' independence, dignity, and choice in daily activities.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.
- Engage residents in social and therapeutic activities.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Ability to work shifts, including weekends and evenings.
- Good communication skills.
- Basic understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience in a care or support role.
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Health & Social Care.
- Training in moving and handling.
- First aid or CPR training.
- Experience documenting care notes.
- Confidence using basic digital care systems.
