Job description
Ards and North Down’s Age Friendly Strategy provides a framework to help make Ards and North Down a great place to grow older and an area in which everyone, regardless of age, is valued and respected. The role of the Age Friendly Co-ordinator is to be responsible for the delivery of the Community Plan (The Big Plan) in relation to Age Friendly (AF); to oversee, promote, review and monitor the implementation of the AF Strategy and Action Plan to ensure that older people can live full and healthy lives, participating in and contributing to their communities: and to represent the Council at regional AF network and other related events. Responsibilities

Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- A Level 5 qualification (HND, Foundation Degree, L5 Diploma) or higher qualification and 2 years’ experience as detailed below or 5 years relevant experience, as outlined below, if a Level 5 or higher qualification is not held.
- At least 2 years relevant experience in all the following areas (or five years relevant experience in all the following areas if a Level 5 qualification or higher is not held):
- Successfully managing and delivering a variety of projects simultaneously and achieving results to meet timeframes, with external agencies.
- Monitoring and evaluation of funded programmes / projects.
- Development of successful working partnerships with a wide range of groups and individuals.
- Regular report writing and making appropriate recommendations.
- At least 6 months experience of each of the following:
- Developing and facilitating workshops or similar.
- Engagement with older people in a one to one and / or group setting.
- Be available to work outside normal office hours including evenings and weekends when required.
- A full current driving licence valid in the UK (minimum Category B) with access to a form of transport that will allow fulfilment of the duties of the post or have access to a suitable form of transport.

Desirable Skills
- Previous experience of WHO Age Friendly programme.
- Experience of co-design.
- Previous experience of Outcomes Based Accountability.
- Previous experience managing budgets for funded projects.
