Youth Floating Support Worker. Could you assist young people to build the skills and confidence to find, set up and maintain their own homes in the community? MACS Youth Floating Support Service supports young people aged 16-25 in the community who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or need help maintaining their tenancy. Youth Floating Support Workers support on average 15 young people who receive individualised support based on support planning ongoing assessment/review and keeping safe were appropriate. Key requirements: 1 years’ experience of working with young people in supported housing or community-based support or similar environment or, Degree in Social Work, Youth and Community Work or similar and 6 months experience of working with young people in supported housing or community-based support and A full, current driving licence with access to a car, insured for business use is required to meet the requirements of the post in full. Posts Available: Newry: 1x Full Time, Maternity Cover (Expected to last until April 2027) Salary: £27,078 per annum. Responsibilities
- Ensure all young people receive appropriate care and support from staff who can meet their individual needs.
- Provide holistic support on both a one to one and group basis to all young people promoting personal development and independence.
- Work in partnership with young people, professionals, and other services to develop individual support plans, create safety plans, and carry out regular reviews.
- Maintain and review accurate and up to date records of support provided to young people.
- Liaise and advocate with housing providers, including the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, housing associations, and private landlords, to ensure appropriate accommodation and tenancy support.
- Proactively maintain and prioritise a waiting list, ensuring regular contact and support for those awaiting the service.
- Promote awareness of young people’s housing rights and advocate on their behalf when required.
- Adhere to all MACS policies and procedures, including Safeguarding, Lone Working, and compliance with NISCC standards of conduct and practice.
