Job description

The Deputy Preschool Leader will support the Preschool Leader in the day-to-day management of the setting, ensuring a safe, caring and engaging learning environment for children. The successful candidate will take a proactive leadership role and assume responsibility in the absence of the Preschool Leader.

Responsibilities

• Support the effective daily operation of the preschool.
• Assist in planning, implementing and evaluating a high-quality play-based curriculum.
• Promote inclusive practice and support children with additional needs.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Level 5 qualification in Early Years/ Childcare (or equivalent as recognised by the EA) OR Level 3 qualification in Early Years/ childcare (or equivalent) AND willingness to enrol on and complete a Level 5 qualification within an agreed timeframe.

Further Information

Worktime: Monday - Wednesday 8am-1.30pm, Thursday 8am-3pm and Friday 8am-1.30pm This post involves working with children and is subject to the provisions of the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups (NI) Order 2007
