Job description

Due to our continual growth, we are looking to appoint a Driver Helper to join our busy Logistics Team. This role will be based out of the Belfast or Portadown depot. As a AM shift drivers helper, you will start at 5:30am based from Belfast site, Monday to Friday, with Saturdays required, on a rota basis. As a AM shift drivers helper, you will start at 6am based from Portadown site, Monday to Friday, with Saturdays required, on a rota basis.

Responsibilities

• To provide assistance to the Driver at all times.
• Obtain all necessary documentation for the daily runs to ensure efficient operation of the business activities.
• Check customer routing for the daily runs, prioritising workloads to ensure all customer commitments are achieved.
• Provide excellent customer service that supports the RiverRidge brand.
• Due to the physical nature of the role, you will be required to collect and move commercial containers.
• Ensure all electronic paperwork is completed in an accurate and timely manner.
• Ensure Health & Safety adherence at all times.
• Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Any other duties as delegated by the Transport Department.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Must hold a Full UK Driving Licence (Max 6 penalty points)
• Good Geographical knowledge of NI.
• Good Communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Experience in dealing with customers and members of the public.
• Ability to work well with others / Team Player.
• Must be able to apply Manual Handling techniques.
• Flexible approach to working hours to include weekends and Bank Holidays.

Desirable Skills

• Previous experience working in a similar role.
• Previous experience working within the Transport Sector.

Further Information

Competitive Hourly Rate £13.32 Annual Bonus scheme available. Overtime rate of Time and a Half for hours worked over 44 hours Monday-Friday.
