We’re currently looking for a Cook to join our team and help create a warm, welcoming environment for the people we support. This is more than just cooking. As a Cook, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining the health and wellbeing of residents, preparing meals that are nutritious, personalised and full of flavour.
Responsibilities
- To plan and implement a menu for residents taking into account: - hygiene, nutrition, variety, personal preference, special diets.
- To maintain an efficient and cost effective system for ordering all goods, foods and vegetables necessary for the preparation and cooking of meals.
- To maintain the overall safety of the scheme in accordance with the Health and Safety policy. Specifically Health and Safety Hygiene for the kitchen and food storage areas.
- Observing correct use and care of all equipment.
- Ensure that kitchen supplies and cleaning materials are well stocked and stored safely through liaison with the manager or authorised person.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- To be willing to work various shifts including weekends.
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent.
- Experience of maintaining Health and Safety and Hygiene Standards.
- Proven ability to work independently to undertake a range of routine tasks.
- Proven ability of planning and preparing menus and be able to order accordingly to meet the needs of the clients.
