Advanced Practitioner Respiratory Physiotherapist Level 1 B7


Job description

As an advanced practitioner Physiotherapist, the post holder will work as part of a multi- disciplinary team providing comprehensive, Physiotherapy service to patients referred across a range of locations and presentations including COPD; bronchiectasis and palliative care. Support is also provided to the Post Covid Service rehab programme on an ad hoc basis. They will work to maintain and develop communication pathways both within the hospital and the community to enable fast and appropriate service for respiratory patients. The post holder will be required to prepare the Pulmonary Rehabilitation service for RCP accreditation (Pulmonary Rehabilitation Services Accreditation Scheme) and work towards inputting data into the National Pulmonary Rehabilitation database. The post holder will be responsible for maintaining provision of a quality, specialised Pulmonary Rehabilitation service and work with relevant managers, consultants and other clinicians to develop the service in line with the needs of the population, whilst working within the remit of the Community Respiratory Team. The remit of this post will be subject to review in line with service change and In response to continued service development, the post-holder will be required to undertake flexible working including extended working , seven day working and on call duties as determined by operational requirements.

Responsibilities

  • To act as an Advanced Practitioner demonstrating advanced Physiotherapy knowledge/skills and clinical reasoning to deal with complex cases within the field of respiratory.
  • To carry a clinical caseload providing advice and guidance to other physiotherapy staff on complex cases.
  • To be recognised as an expert clinician within area of specialty using a wide range of highly specialised and effective treatment techniques and modalities

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • 5 years post graduate clinical working with 3 years at band 6 within the specialist area
  • Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent
  • Registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Physiotherapist

Desirable Skills
