Project Worker - Enterprise Court H9, Bangor. Full-time: Rota-based shifts including evenings, weekends and night cover Enterprise Court provides supported accommodation for people with mental health needs, offering a pathway that helps residents build confidence, develop independent living skills and move towards more independent community living where appropriate. About the service: The service supports residents across a range of accommodation settings, from higher-support rehabilitation placements through to more independent flats with floating support. The focus is on recovery, person-centred care and helping people develop practical skills such as managing medication, budgeting, cooking, routines and daily living. Residents may need support with confidence, motivation, mental health recovery, advocacy and overcoming barriers to independent living. The service takes a trauma-informed approach and encourages meaningful engagement through structured activities, community outings and therapeutic opportunities. What the job entails: As a Project Worker, you will play a key role in supporting residents with day-to-day living, recovery goals and personal development. This is a varied role where no two days are the same. Supporting residents with medication, meals, routines and daily living tasks Encouraging independence in areas such as budgeting, appointments, self-care and practical life skills Building trusting relationships and engaging residents in meaningful activities Responding to safeguarding concerns and incidents appropriately Completing support records, reviews and care planning using multiple IT systems Working collaboratively with colleagues to provide consistent, person-centred support The role suits someone who is proactive, creative and confident taking initiative, whether that means starting a new activity, encouraging a resident to attend an appointment, or finding practical ways to build someone’s confidence and independence.
Responsibilities
- Develop & maintain a trusting & professional relationship with Service Users and act in a supportive & empathetic manner towards them.
- Contribute to & help maintain a harmonious and therapeutic environment.
- Support Service Users to manage their Mental health, physical health and wellbeing through the development, implementation and monitoring of individual wellbeing and safety management plans.
- Actively encourage the involvement of Service Users in all aspects of decision making, be sensitive and seek solutions to difficulties encountered by them.
- Deliver care & support within the context of a social inclusion and recovery approach which is designed to work with people to find and maintain hope, re-establish a positive identity, build a meaningful life and take responsibility and control.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- To be flexible as the role will involve working on a rota/shift basis in Supported Housing. Shifts will include early shifts, late shifts, night shifts, weekend and/or night cover as required to meet the needs of the scheme.
- Be educated to QCF/NVQ Level 2, or equivalent, in a related subject e.g. Care and 6 months paid experience supporting people within a health and social care setting or,
- A minimum of 12 months paid experience supporting people within a health and social care setting.
- Have proven experience of motivating, supporting and mentoring Service Users.
- Experience of maintaining service user and agency records.
- Working knowledge of using IT systems.
