Job description

We are recruiting for a Yard Person. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe, clean and organised yard environment whilst supporting daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the yard and storage areas.
• Load, unload, and move materials, equipment, and stock safely.
• Carry out local collections and deliveries using company vehicles.
• Assist with stock control, inventory checks and material handling.
• Conduct routine inspections of vehicles, equipment and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
• Manage waste disposal and recycling in accordance with company procedures.
• Prepare materials and equipment for delivery or collection.
• Support drivers, operators and other team members with daily operational tasks.
• Operate forklifts and other yard equipment (training provided).
• Provide excellent customer service when dealing with customers, suppliers and site personnel.
• Any other Ad-hoc duties as required.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Full UK Driving Licence (No HGV Licence needed).
• Manual handling experience.
• Able to work in all weather conditions.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
