Join the team at the Northern Ireland Housing Executive in Portadown as a Handyperson and play an important role in supporting the maintenance and upkeep of housing properties. This is a great opportunity to contribute to essential repair and improvement works while working within a supportive public sector environment.. About the role: £13.69 - £14.13 per hour Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm Monday - Thursday, 8:30am - 4:00pm Friday 37 hours per week Holidays: 35 days pro rata Duration: Temporary, ongoing Please note closing date for this vacancy is 12 noon on 10th July 2026 - however you can register your interest for other upcoming vacancies by applying today.

Responsibilities

• Able to carry out roof-work repairs (tiles and chimney).
• Patching of plaster and brickwork, concrete paths and erecting metal handrails.
• Sewer repairs.
• General labouring tasks.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Minimum 1 year’s relevant experience in a similar role i.e. Handyperson/Labourer or equivalent.
• A full current driving licence, (C1 category desirable), a form of transport will be provided to enable the post holder to carry out their duties.
• IT/ Microsoft Office Proficiency - Beginner.
• As part of the reference checking and vetting process for this position you will be requested to undertake a Basic AccessNI Disclosure. Having a criminal record will not necessarily be a bar to obtaining a position.
