Industrial Temps is recruiting on behalf of Wincanton Dedicated Grocery for an experienced and motivated Transport Department Manager to join their busy operation in Larne. This is an opportunity to play a key role in the day-to-day management of a fast-paced transport operation. You'll be responsible for leading the transport team, ensuring operational efficiency, achieving KPIs, and delivering an exceptional service to stores and customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the daily transport operation and team performance.
• Make effective decisions in a fast-moving, ever-changing environment.
• Brief and debrief drivers at the start and end of shifts.
• Monitor operational performance and ensure KPI targets are achieved.
• Drive continuous improvement across transport processes and procedures.
• Promote a positive health & safety culture and ensure compliance.
• Promote a positive health & safety culture and ensure compliance.
• Manage absence, performance reviews, investigations, disciplinary and grievance procedures.
• Ensure compliance with drivers' hours regulations, Working Time Directive, and Operator Licence requirements.
• Maintain transport systems and utilise relevant IT software.
• Deliver a first-class service across the store network.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Previous management experience.
• Minimum 3 years' experience within a logistics or manufacturing environment.
• CPC qualification.
• Good understanding of Drivers' Hours Regulations and the Working Time Directive.
• Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good geographical knowledge of Northern Ireland.
• Experience managing absence, performance, disciplinary and grievance procedures.
• Competent IT skills and ability to learn new systems.
• GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
• Flexible and able to perform well under pressure.
