Compliance and Quality Systems Co-Ordinator


Job description

Our client is seeking a Compliance and Quality Systems Co-Ordinator to join their team based in Dungannon. They are responsible for monitoring and auditing the quality, hygiene, food safety and microbiological aspects of manufacturing to ensure compliance to legal, third party and customer standards. They are also responsible for raising notifications to suppliers for quality incidents and for liaising with suppliers to close these in a timely and effective manner. The Compliance & Quality Systems Co-Ordinator will assist the Compliance & Quality Systems Manager by ensuring that regulatory compliance is being achieved. They will assist with promoting a culture of compliance to food safety and quality standards, including through proactively coaching and training employees at all levels across the site. They shall develop and sustain the Integrated Management Systems in line with the required company and industry standards, including but not limited to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, FDA, BRC, FSC, ISCC Mass Balance accreditation requirements and business requirements. They shall coordinate our Document Management Systems and our audit programmes to ensure that all nonconformities raised internally, from certification bodies, customer audits or against suppliers are effectively corrected and independently verified.

Responsibilities

  • Product Specifications / Declaration of Compliance
  • Generate and manage site’s Product Specifications and Declarations of Compliance for customers as and when required. GPUK Compliance System.
  • Co-ordinate the site GPUK compliance process.
  • Ensure actions logs are closed and validated.
  • Assist other departments in close out of actions.
  • Compile relevant KPI data for reporting in accordance with Quality Management System requirements.
  • Change Management
  • Co-ordinate the site’s Change Management Process from a QMS perspective.
  • Ensure actions logs are being managed.
  • Assist other departments in ensuring that Change Management is fully embedded.
  • Auditing
  • Coordinate auditing programme to ensure compliance with third-party certification requirements including ISO, BRC and FDA among others.
  • Conduct GMP audits in accordance with documented schedule and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken by carrying out follow-up and verification activities.
  • Training
  • Support the implementation of the site quality & food safety training plan to promote employee awareness and education whilst ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Conduct quality and food safety induction training as required.
  • Supplier Approval
  • Maintain the Approved Suppliers List including the approval of new suppliers and reapproval of existing suppliers.
  • Organise the testing of product samples (migration, Taint & Odour, FDA, etc).
  • Supplier Nonconformances
  • Liaise with other functions to coordinate the notification to suppliers for any nonconformances (SNC’s).
  • Work with suppliers to ensure that SNC’s are closed in a timely and effective manner.
  • Quality Management Systems
  • Assist in the maintaining of the site’s accreditations.
  • Compile relevant KPI data for reporting in accordance with Integrated Management System requirements.
  • Support customer requests.
  • Completion of Product Specification Declaration of Conformity.
  • Provide administrative support to the Quality team as required.
  • Prepare monthly reports and updating of scorecards.
  • Ensure site is compliant to all regulatory standards through reviews / audits.
  • Site contact for coordination of Pest Control services ensuring that any actions required are carried out within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Other duties as deemed appropriate in support of the department.
  • Deputise for Compliance and Quality Systems Manager as and when required.
  • Relationship Management
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal quality performance.
  • Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the Quality strategy.
  • Liaise and communicate with other departments, customers, suppliers, and other service providers.
  • Work as part of the Compliance and Quality Systems team to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting, and implementing continuous improvement activities.
  • Communicate with personnel at all levels, internally and externally to Greiner, in relation to quality matters.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 12 months experience in a Quality Assurance function with a demonstrable understanding of Food Safety and/ or Quality Management Systems e.g. BRC or ISO 9001.
  • Or A minimum of 24 months experience either in Thermoforming/Offset Printing or Injection Moulding Operations with a good understanding of Quality Assurance in these functions.
