Job description

Cook based in Rathfriland.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the efficient production of high quality meals and snacks whilst maintaining a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness.
• Key duties include taking charge of the kitchen, ensure all food items and products are stored, prepared and served based on the homes recipes, preparation and portion standards.
• Assist in training and supervision of catering staff.
• Ordering kitchen ingredients based on the menu.
• Supervision of food preparation and offering Residents choice.
• Maintain clean working environment following infection control measures and health and safety standards.
• Report any faulty appliances, damaged equipment or any potential hazard.
• Adhere to HASAP standards, prepare quality meals and snacks for special diets.
• Participate in staff meetings and mandatory training as required.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
• Excellent organisational skills.
• Flexibility to work shift work including weekends.
• Familiarity with HASAP would all be an advantage.
