Project Co-ordinator


Job description

To manage, co-ordinate and develop the implementation of the Neighbourhood Renewal/ Local Growth Action Plan on behalf of Lisnafin/Ardnalee/Trust Community Development Association and to promote the development of the objectives and outputs identified in the plan. To encourage and facilitate the inclusion and participation of community groupings, residents and all other relevant bodies or agencies in the implementation of an agreed, integrated action plan.

Responsibilities

  • Day to day management of Lisnafin Community Centre, its projects and activities.
  • To create and maintain good working relations with other community, and statutory agencies, through the Project Co-ordinator’s involvement in the Neighbourhood Renewal / Local Growth Partnership.
  • To animate and facilitate the implementation of agreed integrated local programmes and projects as in conjunction with the Neighbourhood Renewal/Local Growth Action Plan.
  • To develop and implement programmes within the Centre and several others identified bases within the Strabane Neighbourhood Renewal Area.
  • To actively target, recruit and manage local volunteers to organise and participate in a wide range of projects and activities in Lisnafin Community Centre and other bases within the Strabane Neighbourhood Renewal Area
  • To liaise with, and facilitate the participation of, local community groups, statutory and local authority bodies, educational institutions, local residents and funding bodies to help meet local identified needs.
  • To prepare full written monthly reports for circulation prior to agreed scheduled meetings of the Management Committee of Lisnafin/Ardnalee/Trust Community Development Association and to attend such meetings as required.
  • To prepare the organisation’s Annual Reports, manage budgets, cash flows, and end of year returns
  • To attend identified appropriate training designed to enhance personal skill levels, thereby assisting the development of the organisation
  • To carry out any other reasonable duties required by the Management Committee of Lisnafin/Ardnalee/Trust Community Development Association.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Adaptable and flexible attitude.
  • High motivation with the ability to make interim decisions.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • 5 years experience working in a community development setting.

Desirable Skills

  • Good general education - Minimum 5 GCSE's.
  • A demonstrable knowledge of and commitment to community development.
  • A demonstrable knowledge of local issues.

Location: Lisnafin Community Centre. The job is funded yearly / temporary
