Job description

The Northern Ireland Civil Service (NICS) supports the Executive, Assembly and the institutions of government. Responsibilities

  • Developing and delivering the Public Sector Transformation Fund pilot project to Transform Urban Drainage.
  • Delivering the nature-based integrated drainage solutions identified in the Living with Water in Belfast Plan.
  • Completing the development and publication of the Living With Water in Derry/Londonderry Plan and implementing the nature-based projects identified within it.
  • Identifing opportunities to enable the Department to further develop the strategic management of surface water flood risk.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Applicants must, by the closing date for applications: Be accredited in the Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) methodology to Practitioner Level Or PRINCE 2 or equivalent and,
  • Have a minimum of 2 years’ senior management experience of successfully implementing significant policy or strategy that delivered organisational or corporate objectives and,
  • Have a minimum of 2 years’ senior management experience of successfully leading the governance and implementation of a significant programme of work and managing a high performing team and,
  • Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience at senior management level of effective and collaborative partnership working, demonstrating the ability to establish partnership networks, as well as engage, manage and influence senior internal and external,
  • And Have a valid UK driving licence which enables the post holder to drive in the UK.

Desirable Skills

  • Sortlisting Criteria: In addition, applicants should be aware that after an eligibility sift, should it be necessary to shortlist candidates to go forward to interview, the panel will carry out an objective evaluation based on the information provide
