Caretaker
Job description
The College is seeking applications for a permanent full-time Caretaker to be based in our Strabane Campus. The postholder will provide Caretaking and cleaning services as delegated by the Director and in accordance with practices and procedures of the College.
Responsibilities
- Maintain Security of the Premises and its contents
- Open and close the premises and grounds, except in circumstances where the designated Line Manager or other Authorised Person authorises another person to do so
- Efficient operation of the boiler/heating system ensuring value for money and energy conservation
- Monitor Lighting and heating use within the premises
- Clean the premises
- Receipt and transport of stores and material and other goods that have been delivered to the building premises and their distribution to and from appropriate points of storage
- Complete all paperwork associated with the post and writing reports when required
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Have at least 1 years experience in a caretaker or facilities maintenance, building maintenance, or similar role
- Have a current driving licence and access to a car (Applicants with a disability who have been prevented from obtaining a driving licence due to their disability (as defined by the DDA 1995) are eligible to apply)
Further Information
The working hours will be as follows for this post: AM Shift: Monday - Thursday 7:00am to 3:30pm, Friday 7:00am to 11:00am PM Shift: Monday - Wednesday 1:30pm to 10:00pm, Thursday 10:30am to 6:00pm, Friday 11:00am to 4:00pm Shifts will rotate on a weekly basis.
