Support Worker - Learning Link
Job description
The College are recruiting for Support Workers - Learning Link for permanent and temporary positions that arise across our campuses in Derry-Londonderry, Limavady and Strabane. Support Workers provide support to students with disabilities, medical conditions, mental health difficulties and specific learning difficulties through their learning journey and in accordance with agreed procedures.
Responsibilities
- Produce an accurate, unbiased, comprehensive and legible handwritten record of the content of lectures, seminars, discussions, off-campus events and other taught sessions in the student’s preferred style and format.
- Make notes that contain pertinent information from the session. This may include: any questions and discussions that take place, diagrams and references to any hand-outs and provide these notes in the agreed format within a specified timeframe.
- Review notes at the end of the lecture and ensure they are in a suitable format for the student to access effectively.
- Ensure all notes and time sheets are submitted promptly to the Learning Link.
- Provide adequate notice to the Learning Link if unable to attend a support session (preferably a minimum of one week).
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Have at least a Level 3 qualification in any discipline.
- Have GCSE English and Maths Or at least 1 years relevant experience providing support to learners in a formal environment.
