Job description
Cook based in Belfast.
Responsibilities
- Plan all menus, taking into account residents’ specific dietary requirements and their individual requests and to liaise with the Home Manager to agree menus.
- Maintain sufficient stock and operate within the budget, ensuring minimum waste and efficient use of stock.
- Make your voice heard and contribute to staff meetings, putting forward suggestions and ideas for improvement.
- Set, clear and clean dining room and take and collect meals to resident’s rooms, when required.
- Preparing nutritious, homely meals tailored to the needs of our residents.
- Supporting menu planning and contributing ideas for varied, enjoyable dishes.
- Completing essential compliance and food safety checks.
- Helping us maintain a welcoming, well run kitchen environment.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Able to verbally communicate with the client group.
Desirable Skills
- NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds in Catering & Hospitality, or an equivalent catering/kitchen related qualification.
- Be able to show some knowledge of the diets of older people / menu planning.
