Job description

We’re looking for a dedicated Cook who will help us provide a warm, safe, and supportive environment where our customers can live well. You’ll be part of a friendly, collaborative team committed to delivering high quality care and great food.

Responsibilities

• Plan all menus, taking into account residents’ specific dietary requirements and their individual requests and to liaise with the Home Manager to agree menus.
• Maintain sufficient stock and operate within the budget, ensuring minimum waste and efficient use of stock.
• Make your voice heard and contribute to staff meetings, putting forward suggestions and ideas for improvement.
• Set, clear and clean dining room and take and collect meals to resident’s rooms, when required.
• Preparing nutritious, homely meals tailored to the needs of our residents.
• Supporting menu planning and contributing ideas for varied, enjoyable dishes.
• Completing essential compliance and food safety checks.
• Helping us maintain a welcoming, well run kitchen environment.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Able to verbally communicate with the client group.

Desirable Skills

• NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds in Catering & Hospitality, or an equivalent catering/kitchen related qualification.
• Be able to show some knowledge of the diets of older people / menu planning.

Location - Castledawson Road, Magherafelt. Various contracts available from 12 to 37 hours.
