Job description

As a Project Worker, you’ll be a key part of a small, supportive team, delivering a varied day-to-day experience that includes morning and evening medication support. Assisting with meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner). Please see employer website for full job details & person specification.

Responsibilities

  • Daily living support including cleaning, appointments, and community engagement.
  • Develop & maintain a trusting & professional relationship with Service Users and act in a supportive & empathetic manner towards them.
  • Contribute to & help maintain a harmonious and therapeutic environment.
  • Support Service Users to manage their Mental health, physical health and wellbeing through the development, implementation and monitoring of individual wellbeing and safety management plans.
  • Actively encourage the involvement of Service Users in all aspects of decision making, be sensitive and seek solutions to difficulties encountered by them.
  • Implement & adhere to Inspire Mental Health’s Journey Procedures, involving Service Users at all times.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • To be flexible and work such hours as required by the post in order to meet the needs of the service.
  • A full current driving licence and access to a car. Consideration will be given to alternative travelling proposals in respect of applicants with a disability who cannot hold a licence. Business Insurance is a requirement for this post.
  • Be educated to QCF/NVQ Level 2, or equivalent, in a related subject e.g. Care and 6 months paid experience supporting people within a health and social care setting.
  • Or A minimum of 12 months paid experience supporting people within a health and social care setting.
  • Have proven experience of motivating, supporting and mentoring Service Users.
  • Have experience of developing / assisting and running group based activities / programmes.
  • Experience of maintaining service user and agency records.
  • Working knowledge of using IT systems.

Further Information

New Haven is a 24-hour supported living service based in a shared house in Cookstown. We support five adults aged 18-60 who are living with complex mental health conditions such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and high-functioning autism.
