Job description
The Senior Manager, IAG, Quality and Disability will provide leadership and specialist guidance with Student Recruitment and Support, Ireland on all matters relating to Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG). The role holder will be responsible for ensuring that quality standards and key performance indicators for the service are met by developing a quality approach which reflects the unique nature of the service in Ireland and the need for continuous improvement. They will also provide leadership for disability support services in Ireland, ensuring students with disabilities receive high-quality, inclusive and effective support. As a Senior Manager, they are also expected to support the overall leadership of the OU in Ireland by, where necessary, taking responsibility for OU in Ireland-wide issues and by demonstrating appropriate leadership behaviours and qualities. Responsibilities
- To lead the operational management, quality assurance and continuous development of the Information, Advice and Guidance service at the OU in Ireland.
- To lead and performance manage a team of Educational Adviser and Disability Support staff providing direction, coaching, training and support to staff.
- Lead the development and implementation of quality assurance processes and frameworks for IAG and disability services and work closely with the Senior Manager, Operations.
- To proactively support the Assistant Director (Student Experience) in the development and continuous improvement of good internal and inter team working and service provision.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- A degree and/or appropriate professional qualification, or equivalent skills and experience.
- Substantial experience of providing IAG equivalent to an NVQ Level 4 qualification in advice and guidance or managing the provision of IAG, to diverse groups of customers.
- Significant experience of leading and managing teams providing customer/student services to meet recognised standards.
- Experience of leading, performance managing and coaching staff including those on professional grades in terms of motivation, commitment, performance and development.
- Experience in the recruitment and selection of staff and delivering staff development.
