Job description

Lead and develop a local Poverty Truth Commission, work with individuals with lived experience of poverty and deliver on Foyle Network Foundations Campaigns.

Responsibilities

• Establish and co-ordinate the day-to-day delivery of Foyle Poverty Truth Commission by working closely with partners such as Derry City and Strabane District Council and the Poverty Truth Network.
• Develop relationships with people experiencing poverty, this may involve development of subgroups e.g. young people.
• Day to day engagement and inclusive participation of people with lived experience of poverty.
• Develop relationships with civic society and stakeholders.
• Identify key policy issues and local drivers of poverty that the commissioners wish to address together.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• A relevant social policy degree accompanied by a minimum of two years’ experience in community development or project management in a community or client focused setting.
• Or 4 years’ project management experience including working with people in a community or client-focused organisation.
• Experience of facilitating groups and/or organising and engaging group activities.

Desirable Skills

• Experience of working alongside people experiencing poverty.
• Experience of campaigning or organising.
• Experience of community outreach in local areas.
