Casual Pitch Stewards
Job description
Responsible for setting up, supervising and closing down pitches and pavilions for bookings.
Responsibilities
- Act as key holder for designated pitch/pavilion sites; ensure site is accessible for bookings in a timely manner.
- Ensure full pitch set up to include: putting up and securing nets; setting out corner flags; setting out dug outs if available on site.
- Conduct a dynamic risk assessment of the playing area; check and make pitch safe from foreign objects, dog dirt &/or holes
- Carry out regular housekeeping duties including: litter picking, emptying bins tidying of surrounding areas as required.
- Ensure the highest possible standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained by carrying out routine caretaking and cleaning tasks as required; ensure the correct storage of cleaning products.
- Ensure any faults and accidents/incidents are reported following bookings.
- Ensuring all activity is signed off and submitted to the line manager.
- Assist customers with enquiries in a friendly and effective manner, proactively develop and maintain high standards of customer care.
- Working as part of a team to ensure the smooth operation of the facility.
- Follow the normal operating procedures of the facility and undertake staff training as required.
- Participate in and ensure compliance with all Council policies and procedures and operate within the highest standards of personal behaviour which reflect the core values of the organisation.
- Ensure full compliance with Health and Safety requirements and legislation in accordance with Council’s Policies and Procedures.
- Comply with and actively promote the Council’s policies and procedures on all aspects of equality
- Undertake any other duties appropriate to scale, which may be required from time to time.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- One year’s demonstrable experience in each of the following: General cleaning and housekeeping duties. Set up and dismantling equipment. Dealing with the public. Opening and closing a facility.
- Working Knowledge and application of Health and Safety including inspection and monitoring.
- Must have access to a form of transport to carry out the duties of the post.
