Job description
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Graduate Design Engineer with an interest in robotics, automation and mechanical design to join our growing engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate who wants to develop their skills designing innovative machinery, working with robotic systems and programming automation solutions used in modern manufacturing. You will work alongside experienced engineers on exciting projects from concept through to installation and commissioning.
Responsibilities
- Design mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD software.
- Assist with the integration of industrial robots into manufacturing equipment.
- Opportunity to develop experience with: PLC programming, Robot programming (Fanuc), HMI development, Motion control, Vision systems, Sensor integration, Python or similar engineering software languages.
- Produce manufacturing drawings and Bills of Materials.
- Assist with the development of new machinery and product improvements.
- Support prototype builds.
- Support the design of robotic end-of-arm tooling (EOAT).
- Develop and improve robotic processes to maximise efficiency.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation or related).
- Experience in an engineering or manufacturing role.
- Strong interest in robotics and automation.
- Understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
Desirable Skills
- University robotics projects.
- PLC programming experience.
- Knowledge of machine design.
- Understanding or pneumatics and hydraulics.
