Maintenance Handyperson with Painting Experience


Job description

We’re seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Handyperson to join the maintenance team at Beannchor, one of the largest hospitality groups in Northern Ireland. In this hands-on role, you will play a key part in maintaining the high standards of our customer-facing areas and back-of-house facilities by carrying out a wide range of maintenance, repair and upkeep tasks across our venues.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out general maintenance and repair tasks across guest rooms, public areas and service areas.
  • Undertake minor plumbing, joinery, painting, decorating and basic electrical maintenance where appropriate.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure facilities remain in excellent condition.
  • Work closely with the Maintenance Manager to prioritise and schedule work effectively.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
  • Assist with setting up and supporting venue projects, refurbishments and improvement works as required.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience in a general maintenance, handyperson or facilities maintenance role (minimum 2 years preferred).
  • Practical skills across a range of trades including basic plumbing, joinery, decorating and general repairs.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to maintenance issues.
  • Good understanding of health and safety practices.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends if required.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Skills

  • Relevant trade qualification (e.g. City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent).
  • Experience working within a hospitality, hotel or commercial environment.
  • Basic electrical or plumbing qualifications.
  • IPAF, PASMA or other relevant maintenance certifications.
  • Friendly, professional attitude with a team-oriented mindset.
