The Derry GP Federation is seeking to recruit a Dietician to support the development of the PEACETIME Obesity Project. To contribute to the delivery of the PEACETIME Obesity Management Project providing dietetic assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex medical, physical and psychological conditions, to deliver an individualised management/treatment programme. Following assessment the post holder will be responsible for providing therapeutic and/or clinical diagnoses and managing caseloads of specialised patients/clients and maintaining associated records. The postholder will be required to seek support from senior colleagues as needed.

Responsibilities

• The postholder will be responsible for providing an advanced standard of care to patients of the Derry/Londonderry GP Federation catchment area, which covers a population with high levels of deprivation related conditions.
• Weight loss treatments will be delivered in hybrid group sessions to optimise the use of staff resource, enhance accessibility for hard-to-reach groups and increase sustainability and cost effectiveness of care delivery.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• BSc. Nutrition and Dietetics Degree (or equivalent). Registered or eligible to register with the Health and Care Professions Council registration for Dietetics.
• Knowledge of key nutrition and Dietetic interventions across settings and knowledge of strategic context of obesity in NI including DoH regional Obesity Management Strategy and DoH Healthy Futrues Strategic Framework, 2023.
• Knowledge of assessment and treatment approaches for the effective management of relevant conditions.
• Ability to keep accurate and legible patient notes.
