We have an exciting opportunity for a temporary Residential Project worker 2 within our Short Break Services for Children with Disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with your colleagues to provide excellent care and support to all children and young people coming to the home for short breaks.
• Ensure knowledge and understanding of each child’s needs and plan together with colleagues.
• Engage in all training and development in order to meet the requirements of the regulator, RQIA and the Children’s Home Minimum Standards.
• Undertake duties related to the needs of the young people, such as personal care, medication administration, domestic duties, and laundry.
• To ensure that all issues raised are escalated appropriately in line with The Whistlestop policies and procedures.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Must register with Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC) within 6 months of taking up this post.
• Hold Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (Northern Ireland).
• Be Willing to Work towards Level 4 Certificate in Principles in Leadership & Management (Northern Ireland).
• 90 hours of CLD during the five-year registration period with NISCC.
• Experience of supervising others to include paid staff/volunteers in a service for children and young people.
• A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle with business class insurance or alternatively be able to demonstrate how you can meet the mobility requirements of the post.

Further Information

Salary- £29,507 - £37,259 (FTE) (£23,924.59 - £30,428.92 pro rata).
