Job description

To work within the Domestic and Laundry Departments, while also working within the Christian ethos of Corkey House.

Responsibilities

• To tidy bedrooms, clean bathrooms, toilets, corridors, tidy sitting rooms, make beds and use equipment according to instructions.
• To respect the personal needs and wishes of the residents at all times.
• To wash, iron all household laundry e.g. sheets, pillowcases, napkins etc.
• To have integrity, honesty and patience and ability to work as a member of the caring team.
• To be in sympathy with the Christian ethos of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Evidence an understanding of and respect for the needs of older people.
• Experience of working with older people.
• Willingness to work additional hours to meet the requirements of the Home.
• Awareness of health and safety practices within a working and residential environment.
• Experience of cleaning outside of the domestic setting.
• Must be willing to behave in a manner which respects the Christian ethos of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland.

Further Information

20/hrs per week (shifts: 8am-1pm, 2pm-7pm worked flexibly across the rota). We are an Equal Opportunities Employer.
