Job description

We are looking to appoint a Recycling Operative for the day shift in our Materials Recovery Facility (MRF), at our RiverRidge site in Portadown. Responsibility for picking and segregating both recyclable and non-recyclable materials within a busy MRF.

Responsibilities

• Responsibility for picking and segregating both recyclable and non-recyclable materials within a busy MRF.
• Ensure quality and recovery rates are maximised.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and company obligations, & Health & Safety.
• Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Ensure daily housekeeping rules are adhered to at all times.
• Adhere to the principles of Manual Handling at all times.
• Using software to support more efficient methods of quality control /analysis of our waste streams/waste process.
• Any other duties as deemed reasonable by Supervisors/Management.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Good organisational skills.
• Good communication skills both written and verbal.
• Ability to work well on own initiative.
• Be self-motivated.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Flexible approach to work hours.

Desirable Skills

• Previous experience within a Waste Industry.
• Manual Handling Training Certificate.
• Banksman Training Certificate and experience of performing Banksman.

Further Information

Competitive hourly rate £13.32 per hour 15 percent hourly premium for hours worked between 11pm and 6am. Overtime rate available. Annual bonus subject to achieving set KPIs. 28 days annual leave. Company pension scheme. Free parking. Cash Health Benefit Scheme.
