Job description
The Bar Staff of Michael Davitt GAC are an integral part of the Club Structure and it is essential that they provide a safe, relaxed and enjoyable base for all members, local patrons and indeed, any other guests who choose to visit the premises. If they carry out their job role, and responsibilities as set out below, to the to the standards expected, they can make a major contribution to the entire performance and reputation of Michael Davitt GAC.
Responsibilities
- Opening and Closing of premises - ensuring building, facilities and equipment security at all times.
- Adherence to weekly/fortnightly Bar Staff Rotas to ensure appropriate staff complement at all times.
- Management of tills during shifts and handling of cash in line with Club Management governance and financial procedures.
- High standard of cleanliness and upkeep of bar and club premises at all times.
- Creating a culture of customer care and service, through behaviour, professionalism and application to the role of bar person as part of a team unit.
- Undertake all duties and activities assigned by the Bar Management and/or Bar Sub-committee, in such a way as to enhance and promote the reputation of Michael Davitt GAC.
- Adhere to all health and safety instructions and requirements, as part of the bar person role.
- Ensure all breakages, damage or accidents are recorded and reported in line with club policy and procedures, and within designated timeframes.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Previous experience of working in a busy bar environment, serving customers, processing financial transactions, and working within a team structure.
- Interpersonal and communication skills - in order to build and maintain customer and team relationships.
Desirable Skills
- Facilities management, including health and safety training and application.
