Apprentice Plant Integrity Technician


Job description

Due to continued growth, we are happy to introduce our Plant Integrity Technician apprenticeship program for 2026. Alongside the opportunity to gain hands on technical and practical experience, the apprentice will participate in a 4 year training contract. The apprentice will also have the opportunity to achieve additional condition monitoring certification. Following successful completion of a 4 year training contract, a full time employment contract may be offered.

Responsibilities

  • Partcipate in 4 year training contract working towards achieving a nationally recognised qualification in Engineering Technical Support.
  • Condition based monitoring - learning to deploy predictive maintenance technologies like acoustics, vibration analysis, borescope & thermal imaging to accurately verify asset health on wind turbines/wind farms.
  • Assisting NDT inspections - supporting senior engineers during non-destructive testing to identify structural cracks, weld defects or wall thinning without damaging equipment.
  • Conducting operational checks - both dynamic and static mechanical/electrical/operational checks, statutory safety inspections on heavy plant components to confirm compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Data logging & analysis - processing technical sensor readings and helping build urgency reports for clients.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • 18 years old or approaching 18 years old soon.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Good communication skills.
  • GCSEs at grades 9-4 or A-C, to include English and Maths.

Desirable Skills

  • Have already gained knowledge/experience in wind turbines/wind industry.
