Senior Clerk Of Works
Job description
The Senior Clerk of Works will act as Choice’s monitoring agent on construction quality, compliance, safety, and both traditional and modern methods of construction, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a consistent high standard. By championing best practice and innovation, the Senior Clerk of Works will play a key role in improving residents’ outcomes and strengthening Choice’s reputation for quality housing delivery.
Responsibilities
- Act as Choice’s monitoring agent on construction quality, compliance, safety, and both traditional and modern methods of construction, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a consistent high standard.
- Identify defects and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Maintain detailed site records, reports, and photographic evidence of the works, supporting robust audit trails.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Level 3 qualification in a construction trade, or equivalent technical discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior quality, compliance or construction inspection role.
Desirable Skills
- Membership of the Institute of Clerks of Works and Construction Inspectorate (ICWCI) or relevant professional body to include CIOB and/or RICS.
