Job description

The Care Assistant works as a member of a team delivering care to the residents. As a team member the Care Assistant contributes to the fulfilment of Woodmount Nursing Home's philosophy of care, ensuring the residents privacy, dignity, respect and choice and supports the nursing staff in the delivery of nursing care.

Responsibilities

• Enable and assist patients to maintain their personal hygiene and appearance.
• Enable and assist patients to eat and drink.
• Enable and assist patients to access and use toilet facilities, participating in individual continence promotion programmes.
• Enable and assist patients to maintain and improve their mobility.
• Enable and assist patients to achieve physical comfort.
• Contribute to the maintenance of health and safety in the home.
• Maintain high level of communication between patient's family and staff developing good relationships.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Previous experience is preferred.
