Job description
The Finance Systems & Performance Lead will support the ongoing development, maintenance and optimisation of the organisation's financial systems, reporting and business intelligence capabilities. The post holder will play a key role in supporting the implementation, embedding and ongoing development of Access Financials, helping to ensure that the system operates effectively, maintains robust financial controls and delivers high-quality financial information to support organisational decision-making. Working across Finance, IT and operational services, the role will support the development of reporting solutions, dashboards and management information that provide meaningful insight into both financial and operational performance. The post holder will contribute to the organisation's finance transformation programme by improving data quality, enhancing reporting processes and identifying opportunities for automation and continuous improvement. Responsibilities
- Act as a key user and subject matter resource for Access Financials.
- Support the implementation, maintenance, configuration and ongoing development of the system.
- Develop and maintain financial and operational reports, dashboards and management information using Power BI, Power Query and other reporting tools.
- Support the maintenance of accurate, complete and reliable financial data within Access Financials.
- Analyse financial and non-financial data to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
- Support the provision of meaningful insight to budget holders and managers to assist planning and decision-making.
- Support delivery of the Finance Transformation Programme, including the successful implementation and embedding of Access Financials.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Flexible to meet the needs of the service.
- Ability to travel occasionally to Inspire locations and supplier meetings as required.
- Either: Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CIPFA or equivalent) Or: Degree-level qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business Information Systems, Data Analytics or a related discipline
- And A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in financial systems, reporting and business intelligence.
- Demonstrable experience of supporting, developing or administering financial systems, ERP systems or integrated finance applications.
- Experience of using Power BI, Power Query, Excel and other reporting tools to analyse, manipulate and present financial and operational data.
- Experience of supporting system implementations, upgrades, process improvements or finance transformation initiatives.
- Demonstrable knowledge of Financial accounting and management accounting principles.
- Proven ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights to support decision-making.
- Experience of working with large datasets and maintaining high standards of data accuracy and integrity.
- Proven ability of liaising effectively with internal stakeholders, external suppliers and non-finance colleagues.
